Legal Verbiage: I hereby authorize American Momentum Group to process my Application For Tax Grievance Application for filing in calendar year of 2026, as my exclusive agent, with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission and before any county Assessment Review Commission/Small Claims Assessment Review of the Supreme Court, State of New York, for correction of the assessment appearing on the tentative roll published in January of 2026 and all corrections for the 2027/28 tax year. I authorize AMG, Nassau County Department of Assessment to communicate directly with American Momentum Group in all matters relating to this application.
Eligibility: A person named in the records of the Nassau County Clerk as a homeowner; or that person’s authorized agent; or a person who has contracted to buy a home; or the estate of a deceased homeowner, is eligible under law to receive a tax assessment reduction and a property tax refund. The property must be a one, two or three family home used exclusively for residential purposes. If you are not in one of these categories, you will not be able to receive a property tax refund and should not sign this authorization form. If you are in one of these categories, you may sign this agreement to have American Momentum Group represent you.
Notification of Assessment Reduction: AMG will make every reasonable effort to communicate settlement results and Court decisions to you where necessary. AMG will notify you within 30 days of any settlements or Court decisions once all settlement documents/SCAR decisions are received. I authorize AMG to receive any refund check from Nassau County or any other municipality concerning this filing. Acceptance of any Nassau County ARC settlement offers are at the discretion of AMG.
Services To Be Performed: You are not required by law to hire a tax reduction company to receive an assessment reduction or to file a grievance case. By signing this agreement, you are directing American Momentum Group (not affiliated with any municipality) to prepare and file your grievance with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC), represent you in communications involving offers of settlement, and fully authorize AMG to accept said offers of settlement on your behalf. You authorize AMG to represent you at any settlement conference, including a SCAR hearing of the Supreme Court. AMG will prepare and file all necessary documents, including all evidence for a SCAR hearing should one be necessary. You authorize American Momentum Group to receive a refund check from Nassau County or any other municipality where AMG may deduct its fees and forward the balance along to you within 30 days. You authorize AMG to file a SCAR appeal on your behalf when necessary and warranted, and agree to pay the NYS Court’s $30 filing fee or reimburse AMG if paid on your behalf.
Fee for Services: American Momentum Group charges $2,000, which must be paid upfront. If the filing of an appeal is warranted, I agree to pay the $30 NYS Court filing fee for SCAR. This is not a fee charged by AMG. Appeals are only filed after in-depth review by AMG where cases cannot be settled out of Court and have sufficient merit. If I default on the agreed upon payment, I agree to pay a $50 late fee after 30 days, in addition to reasonable attorney’s fees and Court filing costs associated with AMG and its legal department collecting this debt.
Cancellation: Any homeowner may cancel by written request, with no penalty, prior to the case being filed with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC) as of January 2, 2026. Cases withdrawn after that filing by request or due to duplicate filing will not be given a refund. YOU MAY ONLY HIRE 1 REPRESENTATIVE TO HANDLE YOUR CASE EACH YEAR. IF SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT DO NOT HIRE ANY OTHER REPRESENTATIVES OR ATTORNEYS FOR THE 2027/28 TAX YEAR.
